I'm Pro-Choice myself.

I don't hate kids, or anything like that. But if you do end up getting pregnant, you can't take care of the baby or you don't WANT to take care of the baby, then abortion is realistically one of the very few options available.

I understand it's a touchy subject, and more often than not people are more against it then for it. But I personally don't think it's someone else's decision what you do with your child or lack there-of.

For example: If you're only a month or so along when you find out, can it truly be considered "murder"? I don't think so myself. Does a fetus have a thought process when it's that young? Has it really grown? Not really. Now while I am for abortion, I also think there is a time span in which one should do it, definitely within the first 3 months.

You place this situation as if it's just an odd occurence , like unexpected rain when the weatherman said it was going to be sunny. Common Sense should tell that a baby is a possible outcome of sexual affairs , should this not be taken into account before one attempts said deed ? Sure their are those occurences where you are the one out of the 100 where your contraceptive breaks , or you catch someone who tells a lie to get you to consent, but those occasions are not in the majority.

As for your example

Is the murder of a 40 year old worse than that of an 8 year old child ? Studies have shown that an 8 year old's mind has not developed fully at that moment , meaning that it's less developed than the 40 year old. Is the development of an individual linked to how much of a right they have to live ?

Either way, the fetus is going to be a human being. Your just squashing it out because it's did not make it far enough

There are situations where abortion is acceptable. I strongly believe that if there are exceptional circumstances, then if a woman makes a decision to have an abortion, she should have the right to be able to make that decision herself. In saying that, it should never be used as a form of contraception.

*warning, some people may not wish to read this next part*

For example, if a woman was raped, whether it be date rape or whatever, and as a result of it being unprotected sex, she falls pregnant - which is through no fault or choice of her own - then she should have the right to choose if she wishes to abort the child. She might not want to bear a child that reminds her every day of something which would definitely be a traumatic event in her life.

I would never be able to come close to being able to understand what that would feel like if it happened to me (partly due to being male) but I have had female friends who have gone through various traumatic events where they've mean mistreated by men. I also know it's an extreme example and I apologise it that offends anybody.

Ultimately, it should be the woman's decision about what happens, within reason.

On a side note, with scenario #5, a friend of mine's gf fell pregnant when she was told that she would never be able to due to medical reasons, but it was not life threatening. They have a 2 year old son :p
