Yeah, you read it correctly. WiFi is killing our trees. A research in The Netherlands shows that trees are affected by the WiFi. How? Read this article. Here's the LINK (http://crave.cnet.co.uk/gadgets/wi-fi-is-killing-trees-study-finds-50001681/#ixzz162jFJdtz)

What say you?

Wow. I didn't realise that Wi-Fi could make trees sick like that. It makes me think that a study should be done to find out what wireless frequencies cause the least amount of harm to the surroundings, and make one of those the new standard.

We like trees an' all, but they're no Internet. There's only one thing for it: we'll just have to launch all the forests into space. Right, time to make like a tree and leave.
Definitely not the solution, but it is rather amusing. XD

Or this could be another urban legend. Just like the phone frequency could cause brain damage. But it is said there that the research was done. Like you said there should be a solution to provide a better and safer WiFi.

Actually, cell phones do emit radiation that has been linked to an otherwise statistically impossible amount of brain cancer cases among cell phone users.

Also, wi-fi doesnt just affect trees. It can affect people too unfortunately, especially kids and teenagers. As far as ive read, it can cause irritation, headaches, nausea, dizziness, etc.

While there supposedly hasnt been a study done that proves such a connection, i did read an article where hundreds of mothers were complaining to a school district about the Wi-Fi making their children sick. Apparently after investigating, they found it was actually the wi-fi. Despite this the school board refused to shut off the wi-fi and i havnt heard anything more about it. Then agian, im not one to read the news much.

I read a vaguely similar claim in a magazine a while back. Basically, what it said was while the wireless devices don't directly cause cancer, or anything of the sort, if someone is hypersensitive to electromagnetic radiation, using a cell phone or being around any device that emits radio waves greatly increases the probability of getting cancer for that person.

^^ You sure know alot huh??? But I'm a bit shocked that Wi-Fi can cause this much damage.....

OK , so from what I've read in all of theese enviormental studies, the only way that humans and nature can exist simultaneously in a healthy manner is if we all go back to the freaking stone age. Honestly , it seems that we hurt the enviorment if we even breathe

Wi-fi hurting trees ? More nonsense

Well, nonsense or not the research says so XD. Well, there are set backs to everything that we have right now. Like you said, breathing also can affect the environment XD

hey guys....
what's up?
sorry i suddenly disappeared for about quite a while..i was having the big final exam..need to be focused..:icon_study:

Wi-Fi sure does hurt the trees according to the link, but we should actually look with optimism.

the Internet, thanks to the wi-fi ,modem and other types of connection, had contributed an enourmous benefit to all of us.knowledge can be spread, jobs can be created, new friends can be made.

look at all the positive points that wi-fi had given us,and compare it to this only 1 point, killing trees.

if these people(not you guys) are looking for blaming the cause of damage to the environment, better look somewhere else, such as smoking.(i am a big smoker-hater hahahahahaha)

how can breathing damage the environment??:)

Hehhehhe, the point here isn't breathing affecting the environment. It's just a joke XD. Anyway, there are lots of benefits that we can get from the internet and relates technologies. But the fact that it's affecting our environment still remains and if it's affecting our environment, especially trees, though we might not feel the effect, but our future generation might be the one experiencing that.

Having said that, I'm sure in time there will be more eco-friendly WiFi or similar stuff created. There will always be. Fingers' crossed XD

Well, actually, breathing helps the environment :P Carbon Dioxide and all :D

Generally speaking, our exposure to radio signals from Wi-Fi is well below government safety levels, and much lower than from mobile phones, in part because you don't walk around with a router clamped to your ear. You'd have to live in a Wi-Fi hotspot for a year to absorb the same amount of radio waves as you would from a 20-minute phone call, and there's no concrete evidence that mobile phones are bad for you either. If you're worried, just make yourself a hat out of tin foil.
